While the story takes place in a meta-universe, it reflects Hedda's real experiences from the past few years and criticizes the imbalanced power dynamics within her industry. The the first single from the album, "La di frickin da", was met with rave reviews - The song received five-star reviews from Aftenposten, Dagsavisen, and Bergens Tidende. The latter wrote: "Taylor Swift has her Shake it off, Eminem has The Real Slim Shady, and Hedda Mae has La di frickin da."
