Pressed on 2 x 10" translucent orange vinyl, and presented in a gatefold sleeve That Petrol Emotion were formed by the brothers John and Damian O'Neill of The Undertones when the band split, with their friend Ciaran McLaughlin and American vocalist Steve Mack. Reanann O'Gormain completed the line-up Manic Pop Thrill charted at #1 in the UK Indie Chart on release in 1986 and led to the band being snapped up to the major label Polydor for their second album That Petrol Emotion were one of John Peel's favourite bands performing many sessions for his radio show FIVE BONUS TRACKS: The original vinyl release of Manic Pop Thrill featured 12 tracks, whilst the CD benefitted from 3 bonus tracks from day one. These CD only tracks are included here on Side D along with the tracks 'Mine', the b-side of the single release of 'It's A Good Thing' and 'Non-Alignment Pact', written by Pere Ubu and recorded live at The Electric Ballroom in May 1986.
