Three-piece Sparrow And The Workshop are Belfast-born, Chicagoraised Jill O'Sullivan (vocals, acoustic guitar), Welshman Nick Packer (guitar, bass, basstard) and Scotsman Gregor Donaldson (drums, vocals). Formed in 2008, Glasgow, Scotland, known for their use of harmonies, bastardized instruments and FX pedals, and have been compared to bands as varied as The Breeders, Jefferson Airplane and The White Stripes. Their early demos were played by Vic Galloway on BBC Introducing Scotland and caught the attention of Distiller Records, who offered to put out a single and EP for them in 2009. The band's debut album 'Crystals Fall', was released by Distiller Records in 2010 to critical acclaim, in late April 2011 the band released their 2nd album 'Spitting Daggers', produced by Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Imogen Heap, Jarvis Cocker). The album was again well received with Drowned In Sound and the BBC giving the album 8/10 and 7.5 respectively. The band have moved on from their early, folkier roots and have now embraced a sort of scuzzy snarl, punctuated by Jill's crystal clear voice.
