Zum ersten Mal wird A Rush of Blood to the Head von Coldplay auf EcoRecord produziert. EcoRecord klingt und sieht genauso gut aus wie eine herkömmliche Vinyl-Schallplatte, besteht aber aus 100% recycelbarem PET anstelle von PVC. EcoRecords werden außerdem im Spritzgussverfahren hergestellt, was eine Energieeinsparung von bis zu 85 % im Vergleich zum herkömmlichen Vinylverfahren bedeutet. A Rush of Blood to the Head enthält die Singles In My Place, Clocks, The Scientist und God Put a Smile Upon Your Face. Das von Coldplay und Ken Nelson produzierte Album brachte der Band drei Grammy Awards ein, darunter Best Alternative Album und Record of the Year (für Clocks).
