Bristol trio THOUGHT FORMS single "Only Hollow" is a tip of the cap to MY BLOODY VALENTINE's "Only Shallow". "This is one of those 7"s that's a different speed on each side, so I'm reviewing the B side first because it's the 33rpm one. It's quite a lengthy piece of dirge-doom jamming with howling vocals, slow pounding drums and drawn out walls of guitar fuzz, like Harvey Milk partaking in some kind of Master Musicians of Bukkake-esque ritualistic bong-out. It's really slow and pretty nasty, not bad at all. Flip it and on the A side there's some fuzzed out riff-rock with cool female vocals and weird guitar touches. It is very hard to not compare it to Royal Trux, so I will, but it's got more of a 90s lo-fi C86-inspired shamble to it. Two very different tracks, then, but both decent." - NORMANRECORDS
