The impressive Modern Past album by Maximilian Schindler, better known as Flawless Issues, has so far only seen the light of day digitally and in very small, personalised editions on cassette or CD. Now the Stuttgart label Treibender Teppich Records has teamed up with Max to finally make this famous synth-post-pop/new wave work available on vinyl.Flawless Issue started out together with Edwin Rosen and a split 12' in 2020, when they often played live together or one after the other. FI now has over 130,000 monthly Spotify listeners, a track (`Deine Angst') with over 5 million streams and more than 200,000 `good vibrations' on YouTube. And for fans of Edwin Rosen, Leuchtstoff, Steintor Herrenchor, Nils Keppel, Levin Goes Lightly or Betterrov, the 80s synth-pop and surf-goth sound of `Modern Past' is a must, the key album tracks are `froid', `Self-Reflection' & `Sleepless City'The limited first edition in transparent yellow was sold out within 24 (twenty-four) hours (!) at Treibender Teppich. This is the second pressing on marbled blue-green vinyl, each LP comes with insert & poster (instead of Polaroid before), also limited. The artist himself says: `I recorded this album 2022 in june in berlin neukölln at okerstrasse 5. the album represents one week in berlin. what else can i say ? listen to it in one piece. because that's what i designed it for.
