Luke Titus is a drummer / producer for Chicago artists Noname and Ravyn Lenae. "Plasma" contains features by Chicago artists Sen Morimoto, Ravyn Lenae, Qari and Elton Aura. At 23 years old, Luke Titus is already a seasoned veteran, with a growing body of work that includes collaborations with Noname, Ravyn Lenae, and Phoelix. The reason you haven't heard of him before is because until now he's mostly been content keeping a low profile in the Chicago scene where he is a multi-instrumentalist producer, song-writer, and live drummer for some of the City's biggest names. PLASMA is about to change all that. It's a big musical statement, and one thing it says loud and clear is that Luke is too good of a talent to stay behind the drum kit. It may be his debut LP, but it feels like the work of an artist already fully on his stride. It's as deep a record emotionally as it is sonically, driven by one gorgeously expressive vocal performance after another that pulls you in and stays with you well after the music is over. It's also a work of wild exploration. PLASMA pulls together ideas from across the musical landscape. There's a lot of hip-hop, jazz, and R&B, as you might expect from someone coming from the Chicago musical community he does, but there's a lot of unexpected stuff too: otherworldly psychedelia, experimental glitchiness, big, luscious pop hooks.
