In 1969, singer Inga Rumpf, keyboarder Jean Jacques Kravetz, bassist Karl Heinz Schott and drummer Carsten Bohn left the successful City Preachers. From then on, the four called themselves Frumpy, a play on Inga Rumpf"s name, which means "old-fashioned". Frumpy"s music: pounding blues-rock, interspersed with krautrock, progressive and psychedelic elements. Inga"s voice and Jean-Jaques" organ became the band"s trademark.
