With their Sub Pop debut, Structure and Cosmetics, New Zealand natives The Brunettes see their first release on a US label (previous records were released on their homeland's Lil' Chief Records). Fronted and formed by Jonathan Bree (vocals, guitar) and Heather Mansfield (vocals, keys, glock), the band was born in 1998 out of a garage-infused Auckland scene, and they've been making breezy, effervescent, Shangri-Las-reminiscent pop ever since.
